It's a......

The belly at 21 weeks

BOY!!!! So good job to all of those that voted boy for Jordan's sake. Sorry to those that voted for a girl. We also checked all the major organs: the heart, brain, stomach, kidneys, spine, etc. Everything looked normal and developing properly. The little boy's size is good for the Aug. 9th due date, so that hasn't changed either. The heartrate is 149 bpm and going strong.

She tried to get a good 4D shot of his face, but he wasn't wanting to cooperate, so she said we'd try again at another appointment. He's sitting way low, like kicking my colon low. We did get some good shots of his feet though, it's really cute. I'm going to try to figure out a way to get some of the ultrasound pictures on the blog. We'll see how it goes. I know with Kaitlyn's ultrasounds, I could never get them to scan nicely. But, I guess with the new printer/scanner, they come out alright.

Here's the best shot of his face that she could get for right now.

Here's a foot, leg, and knee.

I thought Jordan would have been more excited, or maybe just more outwardly so. I'm sure he'll be more excited when he's actually out and here. We'll see. I'm just glad that he appears to be healthy without any defects that we can see right now.

More Snow!?!?!!

So, we're getting more snow. It's only been two days since the blizzard ended and already we're getting more snow.

It started with rain Sunday night, which iced over and turned to snow by early Monday morning. It didn't stop snowing until Tuesday morning. There were and still are huge drifts all over town. It's the most snow we've seen in quite a while at one time. It's the biggest drifts we've seen here in this house. Jordan took some pictures of the aftermath. He got to stay home from work, along with the rest of the town I'm sure, on Monday and Tuesday.

Yesterday was actually really nice, the snow was starting to melt and I took Kaitlyn out to see it all. She played in the snow a little bit with her shovel. I probably would have let her play in it more, but she's still sick.

Now, we're getting more snow and of course wind.

Aunty Sissy and Daniel visited

I've been meaning to post this sooner, but I've been sick, Kaitlyn's been sick, Jordan was sick. Our house has been sickified for a while now, but we're all feeling better or at least well enough that I can blog without much disturbence.

Sis and her fiancee, Daniel, and their little pug dog, Gus, were up for about a week from Sunday, March 15, to Friday, March 20. We hung out and did some things around town. Sorry Daniel for not being able to do more guy type things. Jordan feels bad too about not being able to take you out shooting, but unfortunately he just didn't feel good enough.

Daniel got to celebrate St. Patrick's Day for the first time with a traditional Irish meal of corned beef and vegetables. For those of you who don't know, Daniel is from Hondoras and they don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day, of course. I brined my own corned beef, just for the occasion. We also had an Irish soda bread to go with everything. Then of course we had to have homemade corned beef hash and eggs for breakfast the next day. That's waaaay better than the canned stuff. Daniel, who puts hot sauce and pepper on everything discovered that horseradish is a little hotter than he could handle.

We went downtown and to a couple new shops in town. Sis wanted to go to the new Humphrey's, so we met up with one of her friends from high school and her fiancee and had dinner at Humphrey's. Hope it was as good as you remembered Sis.

We got to take the "kids" to the park one day. We went down to the ball fields and let the dogs run wild for a little bit and then went to find a playground that Kaitlyn could play on for a while. The one I had in mind was strangely not there any more. It was a little shocking, so we had to go to another one. She got to swing and actually enjoyed it for the first time. Surprisingly, she actually seemed to know what she was doing, and it wasn't a toddler swing either, because there weren't any.

We also had a barbeque on Thursday night before Sis and Daniel had to leave. We invited Jordan's family over, so they could meet the fiancee. We shared good food and good company. Hope you weren't too overwhelmed Daniel, but the 2nd family had to meet you. Thanks for coming out to everyone who could make it and sorry we missed anyone who couldn't.

Thanks Sis and Daniel for coming up and seeing us, we really appreciated it and had fun. We'll see you guys in a couple of months for the graduation/wedding.

Happy belated Birthday Chelsey! Sorry we couldn't make it to your party, but we didn't want to infect your family with illness as well. Hope you had a great one and we still have your gift.

Another appointment

This appointment was the quickest of them all. They checked the babies heartrate. It's good at 150 bpm. Then I got to chat with the doctor, though not for long, because she said I don't have enough complaints. Not that it's a bad thing, just then there's nothing to talk about. Oh, I did find out I have to have the Rhogam shot again, in the butt in case y'all didn't know. So, I'm really looking forward to that appointment. My next appointment is on March 30 and there will be lots to say then, because I have the full ultrasound and find out whether it's a girl or boy, so anyone who still hasn't voted on what it will be, you still have a little time.

There's the baby bump.

Kaitlyn's doing good. Potty training seems to be off and on. She's going through a phase of disinterest and she got tired of M&Ms, so we had to switch to leftover sweetart hearts. Plus, she doesn't seem to want to poop in the potty anymore. I don't know.

I discovered that she can now just about count to 20, rather haphazardly. We were going back-and-forth counting to 10 and I thought I'd say 11 just for fun. I was a little shocked when she said 12. So we went back-and-forth to 20. She wasn't sure about a few of the numbers, but she was really close. So, we're going to work on our ABCs before she's able to count to 100.

I was so excited today to see some of my tulips popping up out of the mulch. Hopefully spring isn't too far behind. I'm getting cabin fever and am so ready for spring and to be able to work in the dirt again.

The puppies had to go to the vet today as well. Everything is the same with Duke, he just needed shots updated. Ellie on the other hand, she has a tumor that needs to be removed from her right rear leg. Currently it's nothing to worry about, but if it's let go for like years he said, then it can start to spread to organs. So we have to set up an appointment to remove it sometime in the next three months. Also, she's now on medication for her weak bladder. Since we adopted her, every now-and-then she would drip while napping. Then when she woke up it would almost be a reaction of embarrassment. The vet said that happens sometimes with spayed females. How we ended up with two dogs with such medical problems I don't know. We still love 'em though.

Reading Skippyjon Jones

Here's the video of Kaitlyn reading her Skippyjon Jones books. She loves these books! You may have to turn up the volume on your computer to hear her, but you can hear her. I just couldn't get her to remove her thumb from her mouth.

Sooo Cute!

Okay, I had to post this becuase it was just too cute. Generally, Kaitlyn will ask me to check if she tooted or pooped. So I will check her diaper from the rear ( I really need to get more serious about potty training). The other day I was standing at the sink and Kaitlyn comes up behind me. She pulls out my pants pocket and says, "Momma's stinky!" Plus she doesn't just stop with the one pocket she also checks the other one, just to make sure I guess. It was soooo cute, but at the same time I was like, "Gee, thanks kid."

Another doctor's visit come and gone

Well my visit went well yesterday. I did happen to loose a couple of pounds, but I've been feeling nauseous lately and nothing sounds good to eat. It seems to come and go in spurts that way. I got to meet the other Doctor as well. Dr. Biggs was in a meeting that ran late, so Dr. Cohen did the first part of the appointment and Biggs did the ultrasound. The baby is developing normally and is right on track. It's amazing how much bigger they are in just 3 or 4 weeks. The baby now has visible fingers and toes and the features are more prominent. The next appointment is March 3.
